Anangu voice in education

Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Education Committee (PYEC) is an Anangu-run organisation that leads the strategy for the education of Anangu in the Anangu schools.

PYEC provides leadership to ensure that Anangu receive quality education and support in order to be successful in both Anangu and Piranpa ways.

OUR VISION

Aṉangu children will be strong in their learning, their Kurunpa (spirit) and their Tjurkurpa (connection to country). Aṉangu will be in the driver’s seat as leaders in education. We will create a new way in education, with Aṉangu and Piranpa working together.

NETT Kunpuntjaku

The school attendance strategy - Nganampa Education Tjitji Tjutaku Kunpuntjaku works with families in the communities to ensure children are getting the best education.


Bilingual Education

This project focuses on the identification and development of bilingual education resources for teachers and schools to use in their education programs across all Anangu schools.

Pathways to employment

A vital link for children’s future, PYEC works with Empowered Communities, the DfE, schools and employers to create opportunities for work experience and work placements, creating clear steps from school to work.
